I´m sure you have noticed that people who are the most busy, are also the ones that get the most done.
It's not only that they have a lot of activities scheduled and they complete them, they also manage to take on new activities ad-hoc and finish them as promised. Therefore you should look for busy people when you are prospecting.
2 Income producing activities (not just busy)
It could be writing a blogpost about something you learned this week, invite someone for a coffee and share your business, attend a conference call, schedule or join a webinar etc.
PS! It´s very easy to find reasons for not doing these activities, but when they are in your calendar you will feel more guilt if you don´t follow through.
3 Prioritize, prioritize and prioritize
I can guarantee you that something will come up just before you are about to start one of your income producing activities in your calendar.
It can be going to the movies, watch a TV show, play with the kids, prepare dinner etc.
Yes, you may have to say no to fun things that come up. This is what other successful people have done to succeed.
The reward in the end is that you´re building a business and will do fun things when you have spare time.
4 Reserve free blocks ahead of time
Make sure you also reserve blocks for your free available time so you can do activities which come up during the week.
Block out time slots on your calendar that you are available to work your business ahead of time and then set your goals to fill each slot.
At the start of the month, those first time slots might be used to make those initial calls to invite others.
From there, focus on filling the rest of the time slots with showing the business to people you have made contact with and then follow ups.
A full calendar ensures that you have a cycle of success. It ensures that you are always in building mode and adding new life to your growing business. And, it models success principles to your team as you coach them to do the same.
5 Make it simple
I can access it from my phone, my computer and my tablet. In addition it´s synced with my wife´s calendar so she can see if I´m booked if a social event is coming up. I can also see if she has any plans (read work schedule) that I need to adjust to.
So far I haven´t synced my calendar with anyone in my team and I don´t see a reason for that.
The takeaway points from everything I've learned are that you need to enter your income producing activities in your calendar to be committed to finishing them.
